Hello! This week we’re talking about internalized weight stigma.
When we were kids, our parents, other adults, siblings, peers, and the media filled our heads with messages about what we needed to do to be more likable. Our childhood beliefs about what makes us worthy of love, respect, and dignity can keep us stuck and miserable.
Self-inquiry is the process of examining our beliefs and holding them up to the light of day. Untangling our beliefs and looking for the truth helps us get unstuck.
This weekend, consider whether a deeply held belief like “I have to lose weight to feel good” is objectively true and actually working for you.
