Hello! This week weโre talking about Intuitive Eating.
When I went into recovery, I thought my intuition about what and how much I wanted to eat would sound loud and clear, as all my diet rules had. My eating disorder was very authoritative, shouting things like โEat that!โ and โDonโt eat that!โย
But instead of shouting, my intuition about what I want to eat is more likely to whisper, nudge, and sigh. Rather than coming from my brain-based food rules and fear of weight gain, my eating intuition is a sensation that begins deep in my belly, taste buds, or throat. And while it took time to develop the ability to tune in to my intuition, itโs worth the effort! Itโs so exciting to feel as though I know what my body wants and needs.ย
This weekend, consider paying attention to your intuition about what you want to eat and start getting to know how it communicates with you.ย
